Blur & Censor
Blur or pixelate areas
The essentials
Blur & Censor hides faces, license plates, addresses, and any sensitive detail by blurring or pixelating selected regions before you share an image.
How to use it
- Upload the image containing sensitive content.
- Draw boxes over the areas to hide.
- Choose blur or pixelate and adjust the strength.
- Download the censored image.
Pro tips
- Pixelation is harder to reverse than a light blur — use it for text and faces.
- Zoom in to make sure small details like numbers are fully covered.
- Keep an unedited original somewhere safe; censoring is permanent in the output.
Behind the result
Selected regions are processed pixel-by-pixel: blur averages neighboring pixels while pixelation downsamples the region into blocks. The effect is baked into the exported file, so it cannot be reversed from the output.
A worked example
You want to share a screenshot that shows an email address.
- Input
- A screenshot containing a visible personal email and phone number.
- Output
- The same screenshot with those areas pixelated beyond recognition.
